It’s official. My county was placed in lockdown. I went out today and (a couple weeks ago in preparation) to get food and supplies. We are under “shelter in place” orders for three weeks starting tomorrow. Monkey got stuck at the house so guess who has my bedroom? Haha, I have someone to play board games with! Just kidding, I will be working on my thesis as my draft is due right after Spring Break ends. Yeah, I haven’t even started it. It’s been a little crazy around here. Costco, Safeway, all of the stores are completely empty. I broke two brackets and will potentially have to go through police to be able to get to my appointment on Thursday. I experienced an upside to being Celiac – no one bought the gluten free stuff, hah! So even though everything was out, I had an entire section of foods: breads, pastas, granola bars, etc.
Yesterday, I drove out about two hours north to get into some wilderness for a bit. It was nice. It was a tad bit chilly and raining on and off, mostly on. But that’s the best part, you see, because forest greens become vivid and ohhhh the smell of wet soil…mmf. But all night, I suffered from a horrible headache. I drank water, I took headache meds, I slept, but nothing worked. I woke around 2am and could barely see. I felt as though my head was in a vice. I took more meds and laid in the shower. I paced the house and put cold wet rags on my face. Eventually I must have fallen asleep. Woke up around 10am with only a dull ache thankfully. Anyway…yeah. That’s it. I’ll probably think of amazing things for my next post, or I’ll surprise you with art (finally).
I am just…here.
